Seminar - (1 hour or 30 minute session)

Purpose: To share  practical information and methods that enhance healthcare delivery, medical education, community outreach, advocacy, practice quality improvement, or other areas of family medicine. Topics related to family medicine career planning such as job searches, interviewing, and work/life harmony may be submitted as seminars and may not be eligible for CME credit. Seminars should include a combination of educational presentation and active involvement of participants. Audience participation is required and may involve case discussions, small group discussions, role playing, action planning, engagement in advocacy work, or other activities. Question and answer alone is not sufficient. Preference will be given to seminar topics and projects that have been evaluated. Abstracts should include the following sections: background, methods, results, and conclusions.

For seminar submissions, preference will be given to submissions that emphasize:

  • Audience participation
  • Novel presentation techniques
  • A project or program that includes an evaluation component
  • Unique approaches to family medicine patient care, education, and scholarship
