Conference Tour

In the lobby you will find a welcome video that will highlight how to navigate the platform and the conference.

Next check out the Networking Lounge.  In there you can chat and video chat with other attendees and FMM leaders there.  We’ll have fun events such as Friday Night Family Trivia (sign up here), Saturday morning yoga, and breathing exercises to keep you fresh during the conference, and a time to chat about healthy eating and share recipes.  Be sure to check out our playlist, including many Midwest artists!

Our Midwest employers will be hosting Career Corner topics throughout the day – a schedule will be posted in the lounge and included in Saturday morning’s email to attendees.

Now pop into the Education Sessions to see all the great topics and sessions in store for you.  You will see two “tracks”:

Education Sessions – these live sessions start Friday at 4:30 PM CT with two live sessions: Putting your best foot forward on the interview virtual trail: Mastering Behavioral Interviewing strategies for residency and job interviews AND Virtual Residency Recruitment: How Programs Can Add a Personal Touch

The full conference education starts Saturday at 10:00 AM CT with the opening plenary by Dr. Javette Orgain on “Becoming America: Facing Truths while Uprooting Racism in Healthcare” and closes at 4:00 PM CT with Dr. Patricia Tellez-Giron on “Providing for our own, protecting all: Latinx grassroots community organizations rapid response to the COVID-19 virus pandemic”.

See a session that you want to attend live?  Click on it and “add to calendar” so you can set a reminder.

What about conflicting sessions that you would like to attend?  No worries, all live sessions will be recorded and available to view (and claim credit for!) after the conference for 30 days.  Live session recordings should be available starting Monday November 16th on the conference platform.

Independent Learning – This is where you will find on-demand sessions and online posters.  These sessions are open to view starting Friday morning, November 13th and will stay open and accessible until December 13, 2020.

Expo Hall – Here is where you will find all the Residency Fair exhibitors, Career Corner, and our resource center.  Each floor has something for everyone.  Even practicing physicians are welcome to drop by and say hello to their residency friends.

The fair is open any time during the FM Midwest Virtual Conference November 13-14 for students and conference attendees to enter and view the booths, review their materials and websites and leave messages.

The Expo Hall is divided by floors:

  • Residency Programs are grouped by state
  • Career Corner features employers and career options
  • Resource Center features organizations with resources to support you.

The entire conference platform including all exhibit booths will remain accessible for 30 days to all conference registrants.  Therefore, you may continue to research programs, employers and supporters all month long. You can also still leave business cards up until December 13.  All business cards will be sent to the booth contact.

The Residency Fair hours have no other events going on at that time (no education sessions or meetings) where exhibitors will be staffed to answer questions, accept direct video chats or hold “live zooms and breakouts” with attendees (these are not formal interviews but live conversations).  We hope this makes it easier for you to schedule your time and attend live or recorded education sessions that you would enjoy at a live conference.

FMM Booth – Visit the Family Medicine Midwest booth to ask questions and talk with FMM leaders and staff.   At the booth you can also learn about the Foundation, donate to the Scholarship Fund, download the FMM 2020 Zoom background, check out the  Career Center.  You can also view the 2020 Student Scholarship Donors (Thank you!) and apply for the FMM Board of Directors Student and Resident positions. Don’t forget to check out the FMM 2019 photo reel!

Photo Booth – Selfie time!  Use our photo booth to show us where and how you are experiencing FMM!  Let’s see your smile!  Show off your comfy conference wear, your pets or family, or your virtual meeting space!  You can  download your photo and share on social media #FMMidwest20 or #FamilyMedicineMidwest. Check out the gallery to see all your colleagues and new conference friends!

Session Evaluation & Claiming Credit
