Session Description:
It is undeniable that Social Media plays a powerful role in communication and culture, but how can it impact the health community? This presentation will discuss the role of Social Media in patient care and advocacy and offer useful tips on how you can get started on Social Media today.

Speaker Bio:
Rose Marie Leslie, MD, is a recent graduate and former Chief Resident at the University of Minnesota Medical School's North Memorial Family Medicine Residency Program. This fall, she will be starting a position at Allina Health with a focus on Primary Care and Obstetrics. Beyond her clinical duties, she creates informative and engaging health education videos for teens on TikTok and other social media channels. She was named "Most Influential" Content Creator on TikTok's 2020 Top 100 list and named one of the Top 20 Social Media Influencers by Medscape. She has been invited to speak on the topics of social media and health education by multiple media sources, including Good Morning America, CNN, Rolling Stone, NPR, and The New York Times. She is a regular contributor to the ABC News Medical Unit and KARE 11 News Morning Show in Minneapolis. She has received longitudinal training in health advocacy and policy as a member of the University of Minnesota Resident Advocacy Cohort and served as the Alternate Resident Delegate to the Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians.
